Don't Miss Out—Hot Tips & Trunk Shows Leaving Soon

Hi everyone!
I had to laugh… on Facebook and Instagram, several stitchers posted that they went to their LNS instead of the grocery store to prepare for the horrible winter weather forecast for some regions of the US. I think we all understand that one! Stay safe, all of you, and keep on stitching! Remember, stitching releases endorphins and lowers blood pressure! (It would be good to have something to eat, too. But, I’m sure you took care of that.)
We have two trunk shows returning to their designers this week:MindyandPlum Stitchery. Be sure to take a look at them… they are very different from each other! Both are so beautiful!
HOT TIPS FOR NEW STITCHERS (and reminders for everyone):
Remember, I was going to give a little stitching hint every week… well, this week I want to give you a “heads up” about threads.
The most important thing to remember…this isYOURpiece of art! When you are picking colors, choose the onesYOUlike. For example, your piece has a very lime-green leaf painted on it… You don’t like lime green!CHANGE IT!…pull the rest of the threads that are in your piece and lay them all out on the cutting table, then work with someone pulling different shades of green until you find the perfect one! It will happen, I promise!! (After you've pulled all the beautiful colors thatYOU LOVE, make sure to get your threads into natural lighting. Colors will change hue under different lighting conditions.)
Always remember to use a thread and needle that is a suitable size for your canvas. The thread used on an 18-count canvas is smaller than the thread used on a 13-count canvas. It is very important to work with the proper size. When using a strandable thread, a 13-count will use more strands than an 18-count. I like a size 22 needle on 18 count and a size 20 needle on 13 count.
There! Now go stitch…oh, and don’t forget to check out thetrunk shows!
