Hi everyone!
Hope you all had a wonderful week, including lots of stitching time! Why is it that stitchers are quite frequently lovers of reading, as well? It is a frequent combination! I just love to sit in my spot and "work" on my stitching while listening to my latest book! As I've mentioned before, I love "Cosy Mysteries", a perfect companion to a fun Needlepoint project! I know I resisted LISTENING to books, but now, I love it! What a fun thing to do, combining your favorite things! Don't forget to have some chocolate nearby!
Weekly Tips
Did you all know that colors come in two categories… cool and warm? (That is a broad statement, but let's stick with it for now.)
Sometimes you can't find the right shade of red, purple, green, etc., to match the other colors on your canvas. Frequently, that's because you have a predominantly warm color design and have chosen a cool version of the color you need.
The cool version tends to get lost among all the warm colors you are already using. Don't give up! Pull ALL the variations of the color you need, lay your canvas on a flat surface, including the threads not used yet, and, one at a time, lay the new color down… You will know right away which one fits best!
The same is true when you are stitching with cool colors, only instead of the new thread getting lost, the new warm color has a tendency to be too bright!
Try it! And don't be afraid to ask for help!! That's what we're here for!
Be sure to take a look at the Alice Peterson Trunk Show online and in the shop! It's WONDERFUL!
