Face Mask Donations

Jennifer Trevino

Dear Family,
I was helping Julie by organizing the many emails we have received. I noticed how many of you have volunteered to make face masks for us and I was taken aback by the sincere generosity of our family! I don’t know why I was so surprised, the Needlework Community is one of the kindest and most generous I’ve ever been involved with.

While we, at the shop, do not need face masks, thanks to our kind family, it did occur to me that many, many people do not have access to them. It’s more than just the medical community and first responders. It’s the working poor, the grocery store workers, pharmacy staff and of course, the homeless.
Let’s put our skills to work and do something about it. If you would like to donate masks, please follow the CDC guidelines and go for it!

You can drop them off at the shop during our curbside hours (Tuesday-Friday 11-1) or mail them in. I will contact local shelters, stores, and A Stepping Stone Foundation and get them distributed. I haven’t worked out all the details yet, but I wanted to get this message out ASAP.

If you don’t sew but would still like to participate, you can make a monetary donation to Family Arts Needlework Shop. As most of you already know, we are a nonprofit organization and our proceeds go to local Phoenix charities.

We do not have any patterns for masks but they can be found online, many of them for free. If you are dropping them off at the shop please follow the Curbside Drop Off/ Pickup Direction posted out in front of the store.
Please follow all government laws and CDC guidelines.
Thank you for all your love and support that you’ve always shown us, now and for over the past 50 years. We cannot express how much we appreciate it.

With much love,
Jennifer Treviño
(Julie’s daughter)
